Lake of the Woods County Warrant Records Lake of the Woods County Warrant Records

This page sets out what we can and cannot help with, and where a question about a Lake of the Woods County warrant actually belongs. Almost every request belongs with the court that issued the warrant or the county office that holds the file, not with this site. The routing below sends each kind of question to the desk that answers it.

This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. This is a private reference site. We cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, recall or clear a warrant, post bond, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice to anyone. For any of those, contact the county Court Administration desk, the Sheriff's Office, or the court that issued the warrant.

Need Official Warrant Information?

The questions readers ask most often about Lake of the Woods County, and where each one goes:

  • Whether a warrant exists: call county Court Administration or the Sheriff's Office, which can confirm an outstanding warrant when you give them a case, citation, or file number
  • A warrant after a missed court date: call the district court that set the case, because Minnesota consolidated its municipal and justice-of-the-peace courts and no city court holds it
  • Clearing or resolving a warrant: talk to a licensed Minnesota attorney and the issuing court about a recall motion, a surrender, or posting bond
  • An arrest warrant tied to a charge: a judge set the charge and the bail, and the Sheriff's Office serves the warrant and runs the jail

For county court records, warrant questions, and fine payments, the first desk to call is Court Administration at 206 8th Avenue SE, Suite #250, Baudette, MN 56623, phone 218-634-1451. Court Administrator Pamala Shaw heads that office, and its hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. When the office is closed, including weekends and holidays, warrant and bail questions go to the Sheriff's Office at 206 8th Avenue SE, Suite #300, Baudette, MN 56623, phone 218-634-1143.

Sheriff's Office records requests go to the Records Division at that same Suite #300 address. The county asks for up to ten business days on a public data request, and it applies the classifications in Minnesota Statutes chapter 13 to whatever is requested. Neither office can give legal advice, and neither one can confirm a federal warrant, which belongs to the federal court system.
